Horn Resources

HORN RESOURCES – A PIECE OF HISTORY

The precursor of Horn Resources originated in Dallas Texas in 1921; then moved to Kilgore in 1931 after the discovery of the 2 billion-barrel East Texas oilfield. After building several successful businesses in East Texas, HRC founder Ancel A. Horn expanded into California at the start of WW2.

The second generation of the family-owned HRC graduated from USC in Geological Sciences.  ExxonMobil employed Ancel D. Horn as an exploration geologist, where he trained in the California offshore, North Sea, Texas, Nigeria and Middle East development plays. Working from Seattle, he played a significant role in the discovery of the Prudhoe Bay field.  HRC opened an office 1n 1979 in Seattle to assist Canadian companies in Vancouver and Calgary with investment in the USA during the oil boom of that period.

During this boom period, HRC raised substantial capital from Canadian public companies and private European investors. In the years that followed, HRC funded and drilled more than 30 primarily development wells in Ohio and West Virginia, along with exploration wells in Louisiana, Colorado, Wyoming, Montana, and Texas. HRC also raised funds for a small Permian Basin program in West Texas. Today, HRC mine projects were gold mines in Honduras, Costa Rica and Bangladesh.  Mapping in Southern Nevada included lithium, cobalt and other critical. minerals.

HRC currently operates from the mining district near New River, Arizona. HRC is also represented in the United Kingdom and Canada.
